O Christ what
shall we offer you coming on earth?
Angels offer Praise;
Heaven lights up a star;
Magi bring gifts;
Shepherds their wonder;
Earth a cave;
Desert a manger.
We offer you a
MOTHER.

And because
of his visitation,
we may no longer desire God as if he were
lacking: our redemption is no longer a
question
of pursuit but of surrender to him who
is
always and everywhere present. Therefore
at every moment we pray that, following
him,
we may depart from our anxiety into his
peace.

Auden

Never we know
but in sleet and snow
The place where the great fires are
That the midst of the earth is a raging
mirth
And the heart of the earth a star.
And at night we win to the ancient inn
Where the Child in the frost is furled,
We follow the feet where all souls meet
At the inn at the end of the world.
G.K. Chesterton

I will honor
Christmas in my heart,
and try to keep it all the year ...
