Sand and Sea: From the Desert to the Celts
April, 2010

Join Desert Foundation Executive Co-director Tessa Bielecki April 16 and 17 for her workshop “Sand and Sea: from the Desert to the Celts,” in Boulder, Colorado. Sponsored by Contemplative Outreach of Boulder, the workshop takes place at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Boulder. Tessa will explore the teachings of the early Christian Desert Fathers and Mothers who lived in Middle Eastern and North African monasteries, and how those teachings found their way north to medieval Celtic monasteries.

To prepare for Tessa’s workshop, some attendees are reading The Solace of Fierce Landscapes by Belden Lane. To learn more about Lane’s exploration of desert spirituality and the “desert” of grief, see Fr. Dave Denny’s review of this book.
